A few days ago, I went to see the exhibition Time Flies by Esko Männikkö at Mindepartementet Art and Photography in Stockholm.
I didn't know the artist or his work before this, but I experienced a certain connection to my own work as soon as I entered the space.

As a photographer, Männikkö is self-taught and one of his recurring themes is the passing of time. Both aspects I can relate to.
His images show a spectrum between the conceptual and the documentary, human and nature, and the found or homemade frames used in the exhibition add yet another layer to the whole.

The exhibition will be on until the 18th of September, plenty of time to go and check it out, you will not regret it.

Speaking of the passing of time, I have exactly 7 days left in the beautiful city of Stockholm before I go back home.
Four months have flown by, time really has been a vague concept during my stay here, but I will have plenty of memories to cherish.
Hopefully I get the chance to visit this city again soon. .

Love, Anne van Beers
