Converse X JW Anderson

Written by Fashion Tales

At first glance, the new collaboration between Converse and JW Anderson out to be toys, but this playful collection is rather something we can categorize as art. But what does actually mean something like art? At some point in our youth we stop playing with our toys. But the obsession that we
have when it comes to our stuff gets stronger and stronger as we age. We dress in a certain way to express who we are. We buy things - no matter how everyday they are - because we believe that they will bring us happiness. Some collect sneakers, others collect Pez. And some, like Jonathan Anderson, collect art.

Converse x JW Anderson Chuck 70 Toy is the result of this lifelong obsession. Anderson has said that the creative process is like a giant patchwork of information and images “in search of the new, the weird and the wonderful.” He continues to work Converse and apply this process and his passion for the craft, with due support Fashion and style, to create new versions of the iconic Chuck shoe. A radiant combination of textures characterize these nytappningar of chuck 70. Gloss as patent leather, the excess paint connection and strings that mimic the San Francisco-pin enables even the most youthful sneakers feel like they were toys.

Now released both the collection Converse x JW Anderson Chuck 70 Toy and an extension of JW Anderson's Grid Collection where the new color of the season is Scarlet Red. Maybe Chuck, after all, something that we can name as art.

Converse x JW Anderson Toy Collection is available from 19 July to Converse.com and at Très Bien. Grid Collection is available at Converse.com and at select Converse retailers such as Très Bien, Nitty Gritty and Sneakersnstuff.
