In his early twenties, Swedish born Patrik Andersson arrived in New
York City to pursue his dreams as a photographer. His style and vision
quickly caught the attention of international creative directors and
fashion stylists. Before long, he was featured in magazines such as
Italian, French and American Vogue, Interview, Harpers Bazaar, W, The
Face, New York Times Magazine and Allure while doing work for
commercial clients such as Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, The Gap, H&M,
Sony, Casio, AT&T, Island Records, Disney and DreamWorks.
Throughout his career, Patrik has captured memorable moments in
politics, music, film, art, and the fashion industry. He photographed
a large format close-up of President Clinton for the memorial issue of
George, Kate Moss first W cover, and when Mick Jagger turned fifty,
Patrik shot the cover image for Esquire. He has also shot
personalities like Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Muhammad Ali, James
Cameron, Oliver Stone, Salman Rushdie, Ray Charles, Ben Stiller,
Isabella Rossellini, Gwyneth Paltrow, REM, Kevin Spacey, John Cusack,
Bon Jovi, Matt Dillon, Mark Wahlberg, Whitney Houston, Laura Dern,
David Lynch and others.
In addition to his still photography work, Patrik began to seek new
challenges in the world of motion pictures. Immersing himself into
filmmaking, he began making videos for music and fashion, as well as
his own personal short films. One of his latest videos for Devonworks
began as another high profile photography job that quickly developed
into the short film A Standard Affair. After a positive online
response the producer commissioned Patrik to expand it into a feature
script that is now in development. His recent book Kaleidoscope is a
25 year retrospective and gives clues about his future direction.
Patrik continues to pursue photography and other film projects with
his signature passion.
