There had always been a fascination with cameras and the technical aspect of photography when Zelma Schelin picked up her first camera, using it as a way to understand her surroundings and document the closest subject she had at hand, her family. She started out assisting and as she found her way within fashion photography she got fascinated with shooting on film and she further advanced by learning the craft of hand printing and developing her own film. Within this craft she found her own language and a way to express herself through unique colors and carefully selected subjects.
