Siri Derkert's life and artistic journey unfolded across the vast landscape of the 20th century, a period marked by profound societal and cultural shifts that left an indelible imprint on her creative evolution. Andréhn-Schiptjenko's presentation, marking the gallery's fourth solo exhibition featuring Derkert, showcases a curated selection spanning her multifaceted career. This exhibition traces her artistic development from her inaugural self-portrait in 1906-08 to the late 1960s, encapsulating diverse phases such as cubism, fashion illustration, intense portraiture, bronze sculpture, and innovative experiments with concrete and metal.
