Each year, about eight kilograms of textiles per person end up in the trash, primarily due to stains that are difficult to remove.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the iconic Swedish Bregottfabriken is focusing on textile care and renewal. In partnership with students from the textile school Handarbetets Vänner in Stockholm, everyday marks like butter stains have been reimagined, transforming waste into art.
The KO-llection features twelve distinctive garments inspired by elements intrinsic to the Bregottfabriken concept, including Meadow, Muzzle, and Dew. This inspiration is reflected in the embroidered details on a shirt, a dress and a denim jacket.
The collection was unveiled to the public at a vernissage, where attendees could also bid on the unique pieces. The exhibition is scheduled from September 25th to the 27th at Handarbetets Vänner’s location on Djurgården Island in Stockholm. Following the exhibition, the garments will be showcased in shop windows, making them accessible for everyone to enjoy.
