FW18 Collection - A Clash Between Haute Couture and Urban Subculture

This is the seventh time Belgian-born and US-based designer, Raf Simons has partnered with Eastpak for his runway collections. Just when you thought you’d seen the limits of what this particular clash of creative outlooks can achieve, a new twist on Eastpak’s renowned functional style emerges. An unconventional collaboration that occupies the middle ground between mid-centry haute couture and urban subculture with strong references to the iconic trench coat of the 1960s.

  • Converse X JW Anderson

    Written by Fashion Tales

At first glance, the new collaboration between Converse and JW Anderson out to be toys, but this playful collection is rather something we can categorize as art. But what does actually mean something like art? At some point in our youth we stop playing with our toys. But the obsession that we
have when it comes to our stuff gets stronger and stronger as we age. We dress in a certain way to express who we are. We buy things - no matter how everyday they are - because we believe that they will bring us happiness. Some collect sneakers, others collect Pez. And some, like Jonathan Anderson, collect art.

Converse x JW Anderson Chuck 70 Toy is the result of this lifelong obsession. Anderson has said that the creative process is like a giant patchwork of information and images “in search of the new, the weird and the wonderful.” He continues to work Converse and apply this process and his passion for the craft, with due support Fashion and style, to create new versions of the iconic Chuck shoe. A radiant combination of textures characterize these nytappningar of chuck 70. Gloss as patent leather, the excess paint connection and strings that mimic the San Francisco-pin enables even the most youthful sneakers feel like they were toys.

Now released both the collection Converse x JW Anderson Chuck 70 Toy and an extension of JW Anderson's Grid Collection where the new color of the season is Scarlet Red. Maybe Chuck, after all, something that we can name as art.

Converse x JW Anderson Toy Collection is available from 19 July to Converse.com and at Très Bien. Grid Collection is available at Converse.com and at select Converse retailers such as Très Bien, Nitty Gritty and Sneakersnstuff.

  • Converse’s 2018 Pride Collection

    Written by Fashion Tales

Brought to life with LGBTQ+ artists, stories of love set the stage for Converse’s 2018 Pride Collection. Designed by Miley Cyrus, all net proceeds of the Converse Pride Collection will support LGBTQ+ youth community partners globally.

Pride represents the incredible progress made possible when voices come together and speak out. The global movement demonstrates that a spark can ultimately change the course for generations to come, and serves as a reminder that there is more work to be done everywhere.

Born out of the Converse Pride Employee Network, the Converse Pride Collection carries this spirit as the brand’s annual Pride celebration.  It also serves as a small contribution for those that have paved the way and continue to advocate for people of all ages to be their true selves today. Designed by Miley Cyrus, all net proceeds of the Converse Pride Collection will support LGBTQ+ youth community partners globally, including the Happy Hippie Foundation, It Gets Better Project, Minus 18 and RainbowYOUTH.

In addition to the full streetwear uniform designed for PRIDE celebrations, Converse worked with these community partners to socially curate statements of hope and love from LGBTQ+ youth as they get ready for Pride 2018. Donating its creative resources and partnering with artists such as Ionut Radulescu, Liam Donnelly and Rooney, Converse worked to visualize the contributed statements. The result is a powerful body of poster art that celebrate PRIDE, share love and serve as means for encouraging empathy across cultures.

The Converse Pride Collection by Miley Cyrus is available now exclusively on Converse.com and at select Converse stores, with prices ranging from €45 to €110.

  • Chanel Neige

    Written by Fashion Tales

Under the impetus of Karl Lagerfeld, CHANEL presents the first ever Coco Neige collection. A logical continuation of both Gabrielle Chanel’s love of the open air and the regular presence of sportswear in the CHANEL collections. A few years ago, the House even launched its own skis and snowboards. So today Karl Lagerfeld wanted to go a step further and create an entire line devoted to winter sports, designed for the slopes and the après-ski. Coco Neige revisits the mountains by combining it with the codes of CHANEL: masculine/feminine inspiration, tweed and leather and quilting work set the tone for this line with its slender and sporty silhouettes. Satin, wool, fringed tweed, velvet, denim and leather are paired with waterproof and windproof materials, with heat-sealed seams and reinforced protection to take full advantage of the slopes and the après-ski terraces.

Discretion is of course key: Coco Neige instils the attitude and the style of CHANEL through a palette of black and white with flashes here and there of blue and fuchsia. The camellia, the braid, the collar and pocket of the suit jacket all appear in a refined sobriety. Each item is made for skiing and boarding, allowing for maximum comfort and a great freedom of movement. The high collars of the parkas and the down jackets protect from the wind, the trousers and salopettes fit the legs beautifully, flaring out to cover ski-boots, while the jackets perfectly cover the lower back. A hint of childhood memories is in the air with the slim-fit sweaters, the gilets with mountain motifs, the ribbed knit balaclavas, the crests and medals in the shape of snowflakes. Suede mittens, denim caps, nylon ushankas and wool berets add an urban touch to the collection.

As for shoes, two-tone booties in shearling, mountain shoes with hooks and laces in tweed or in nylon, and boots in long-haired fur have all been designed for strolling through the ski resort. The bags play the high-altitude café terrace game: backpacks and shoppers in quilted nylon and shearling, and the 11.12 bag in suede braided with wool rub shoulders with a down-filled soft nylon line embossed tone on tone with the name CHANEL. Finally, the eyewear, designed especially for the mountains. A pilot frame with 18-carat white gold lenses guarantees maximum protection against the rays of the sun and the luminosity of the snow. Its titanium structure ensures high impact resistance, protects the skin from the cold and is hypoallergenic. Its cable-style temples are curved for perfect support. Removable covers in quilted black, white, raspberry, pine green and grey blue lambskin embellish the frames. A pair of XS black ski goggles are elegantly simple with a CHANEL signed adjustable strap and can be worn with a helmet.

When it comes to relaxing, a pair of sunglasses with a shield structure combine gradated black or silver mirror lenses with wide temples in black quilted leather embellished with the CC logo. With Coco Neige, Karl Lagerfeld imagines a collection that’s as aesthetic as it is sporty.

Discover the nineteen silhouettes imbued with the style and the allure of CHANEL in boutiques from July 2018.

  • Isadeco

    Written by Fashion Tales

The spring collection by Isadeco is inspired by case study houses.

With the ambition to reconcile the fashion industry's collections with interior design, the Swedish design brand Isadeco launched 2017 pots that can take place at home.

The inspiration behind the season's collection has been taken from the American architecture project “Case Study Houses”. A project that ran between 1945-1966 and involved designers and architects like Richard Neutra, Pierre Koenig and Charles and Ray Eames. The architecture of the houses, as well as the way in which they have been documented, have been the basis for inspiration for the collection.

“There is a mystery in the portrayal of the life that is happening in the interior that we have wanted to recreate within the framework of our campaign. We have chosen to capture both the light and the aesthetics,” said Vivianne Issa, founder and creative director.

The new color arrangements for the popular Fashion pot to jump are dark green, clear and white. In Base Collection we see a supplement in the shape of a turquoise and black pigmented pot. For the Iconic line, Isadeco continues with its pink and white marble pots.

Isadeco's pots are sold at around 40 dealers around the country such as the Nordic Gallery, Asplund, the Fire Station, Perspective Studio and Vallgatan 12. The new collection is available now with prices from 250 kr. All of Isadeco's products are also available for sale at www.isadeco.se.
